چکیده
A dramatic shift in microbial reefs occurred around the Ediacaran–Cambrian boundary. Here we describe changes composition, construction, and texture of Zavkhan Terrane Gobi-Altai Province, western Mongolia, during late Ediacaran early Cambrian. Stromatolites consisting peloids, micritic clots, homogeneous lime mud without calcified microbes (calcimicrobes) are characteristic upper (units 9 16A Zuun-Arts Formation). In contrast, abundant thrombolites with stromatolites occur lowest Terreneuvian 17A 17 Bayan Gol These Cambrian made up clots close association calcimicrobes including Korilophyton, Renalcis, Tarthinia. The calcimicrobial studied herein directly stratigraphically above strata that record a strong negative δ13C values dominated by small shelly fossils; these earliest known reef representatives Phanerozoic. changed almost simultaneously drastic fluctuations environmental conditions (e.g., seawater chemistry, Ca concentration, carbonate saturation, oxygen level). would have been influenced evolution skeletal metazoans across present work provides crucial geobiological information on substantial shifts at boundary how related textures appeared tandem innovation biomineralisation.

A survey of canine echinococcosis in Gobi Altai Province of Mongolia by coproantigen detection.
Few studies have been carried out for the prevalence of canine echinococcosis in Mongolia. This study was designed to elucidate a preliminary information of the prevalence from feces collected in the field. Sixty-seven fecal samples from dogs and 2 red foxes in Altai town were collected and examined for Echinococcus coproantigen and eggs. Coproantigen detection was performed by a sandwich ELISA...
متن کاملtranspressional uplift in the Gobi Altai, southern Mongolia The landscape evolution of Nemegt Uul: a late Cenozoic Geological Society, London, Special Publications
The geomorphology and structural geology ofNemegt Uul, Southern Mongolia, is examined as an example of a mountain range that has formed within a restraining bend along a major intracontinental strike-slip fault system, the Gobi-Tien Shan fault system. Structural and geomorphological analysis demonstrates that the mountain belt is young and has been differentially tilted and eroded. A geomorphol...
متن کاملPlated Cambrian Bilaterians Reveal the Earliest Stages of Echinoderm Evolution
Echinoderms are unique in being pentaradiate, having diverged from the ancestral bilaterian body plan more radically than any other animal phylum. This transformation arises during ontogeny, as echinoderm larvae are initially bilateral, then pass through an asymmetric phase, before giving rise to the pentaradiate adult. Many fossil echinoderms are radial and a few are asymmetric, but until now ...
متن کاملIntegrated chronostratigraphy of Proterozoic-Cambrian boundary beds in the western Anabar region, northern Siberia.
Carbonate-rich sedimentary rocks of the western Anabar region, northern Siberia, preserve an exceptional record of evolutionary and biogeochemical events near the Proterozoic/Cambrian boundary. Sedimentologically, the boundary succession can be divided into three sequences representing successive episodes of late transgressive to early highstand deposition; four parasequences are recognized in ...
